Paranormal Voices and Then Some.  Should be paranormal vices.  Food for thought.

Anyhow, without further ado, the weekend story.  Falls into the “definitely my bad” category.  Tracy from Mystic Mania came round on Friday for the sole purpose of making an audition video.  She was interested in applying to become a talk show host on Oprah’s new OWN network.  She had heard about the auditions the day before and the deadline was one day away.

So we went to work.  She decided to ad lib, not work off a script.  After six takes we found one we agreed was pretty good.  And she’s telegenic.  The only problem was the use of the word “shit” in the take.  (Don’t Sit in Your Shit was the title of her show).  And, in retrospect, me piping in with the word “Vicodin” at some point probably wasn’t so good either.  So we looked up the rules.  Nothing profane or obscene, which I interpreted as she shouldn’t be flashing the audience or trash talking, racial profiling, shooting up on camera, that sort of thing.  And, she qualified the use of the word “shit” by saying she knew she shouldn’t be using it in the take so I thought we’d be okay.

Then it took six hours to fill out the application and upload the video.

The next day she got an email informing her that her application had been rejected due to either inappropriate length (not us) or content (that was more than likely it). But, really?  It’s cable!  People say “shit” or worse on cable all of the time!

So sorry Tracy, definitely my bad.  Next time we’ll keep it rated G (boring).
